Hey Ya'll, We just became the proud new owners of an 87 Honda 250R but it needs ALOT. I was wondering what the parts interchangability's are between all the years of these?? will anything fit anything (swing arms, frames, etc etc) between the years of the Fourtrax TRX 250R's (I Hope so)

Looking forward to some info......

Thanks in Advance,

The 86's and 87's are the same but are different than the 88's and 89's, for the most part. The 88-89's frame, swing arm, a-arms and motor are upgraded from the earlier years. What parts are you looking to interchange?

I picked up an 87 without even looking at it, well it has frame and swingarm damage that Im going to have to replace the frame and swingarm to correct and was just hoping that these things are infinitly interchangable, what is different??

I would say that they are almost the same, the frame and swingarm will work either way. Had an 87 frame, updated to an 88 frame and everything worked, also on the 87 I used an 88 swingarm, I just modified the bottom rear engine support (on the center piece for the 87 swing arm which also works as the bottom engine support, I cutted the bottom 2 tabs and left the top as is) it worked fine, later on I updated to an 88 swingarm.
