Yep the republicans have a plan for this issue.   The plan includes to have children working (like Newt said we need to do) dissolve medicare, social security and any other form of gov't assistance of course except for tax cuts for the rich and corporations.  Yep there plan works, kids will be working but they can't vote and seniors will be working until they die to try to scrape by, all the while the rich will pay their 15% tax rate and laugh all the way to the bank.

Just saw an article that says the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) forecasts a slowing economy and a dramatic increase in unemployment starting late this year and continuing through 2014, and perhaps longer, due to the excessive increases in the national debt.  The outrageous spending habits of the Socialist Left is a self-fulfilling event; they achieve power by pandering to the poor, promising 'free' money and services but their agenda only creates more poverty and, thus, more votes.  That's how you dismantle a democracy and install an oligarchy.

Kinda like the Right Wing pandering to the rich, by promising tax cuts which is like free money?
If the Bush tax cuts worked where are all the jobs? You can't blame most people for sucking off the government, it's not like they can all go out and get work. Let's get the jobs back over here and then we can deal with the bottom welfare suckers.  Wink

Rich people are who buy things, rich people own businesses. rich people are who write the pay checks. You act as if rich people are horrible people who contribute nothing to the economy... wrong mind set.

Nope, I don't act that way, I just want them to pay is all.  The middle class is what drives this economy, the middle class is what makes rich people rich, the middle class is hurting the most right now and have been for years and it will be the middle class that pulls us of this mess.

Look, corporations are having record profits, there are more millionaires than ever before but the middle class is on the decline.  You can go ahead and vote tax breaks for the rich and tax break for corporate America but I won't.  Republicans care nothing about the poor or the middle class, all they represent is corporations and the ultra rich and it shows.

Yep, distributed to our creditors and the military,  CIA, FBI, IRS, FDA, TSA, and so on and so on.  Use the money to pay the bills, it is that simple.

Tax businesses more and the cost gets passed through to the consumer. Simple, basic economics.

Also, lots of idiots that know nothing about what they speak, like to blah about the "rich" paying more taxes. They don't even know what they're complaining about. What they're actually attempting to grasp is the concept of the 15% capital gains tax applied to returns on investment. Sure, we can raise it across the board but, that's going to punish the average guy who sells a bit of property for a little profit, or who manages to reap a little benefit off of his institutional investments, etc.

And sure, the middle class drives the consumer end of the economy. There's not doubt. However, increase business tax and that very sector so many claim to be concerned about, will see their cost of living increase and their buying power drop.

Want to help things? Start with income tax reform and then concentrate on making it attractive for businesses to open, develop and stay in the US. Levy massive import taxes/tarrif's on good from other countries (China), which will halt their currency manipulation and level the playing field for America. Taxing the crap out of your wealthy and corporations isn't going to do anything but make life more expensive for the very people some say they're so concerned with.

I know, I know, cut the corporate tax even more and they will create more jobs, well too bad that does not work.  Bush tax cuts have been around for about 8 yrs (not sure exactly how many) and corporate profits are up, record profits, record bonuses but where are the jobs?  The rich keep getting richer and the middle class that actually drive the economy is going down.  Record corporate profits, record bonuses for corporate officers and a dying middle class, that sounds like the way to drive an economy all right................into the ground.

Sounds like the same idiots that brought us the Reagan era supply side economics.

Simple fact, Romney paid an effective tax rate of 13.9 percent in 2010, it is that simple.  Now one mentioned Taxing the crap out of your wealthy and corporations, a raise in taxes for a few does not mean your taxing the crap out of them.  It's not like their taxes will jump 30% or more we are talking a relative few percentage points.

Good grief. How can people be so ignorant to the facts? Maybe I just understand it clearly given the fact I have a degree in economics. But still, this isn't hard.

Let me provide some examples of tax cut impacts. I will start on a local level, here in Manatee County. Wellcraft (the boat manufacturer) was located in south Manatee County for years. They employed hundreds of "middle class" Americans. Those middle class Americans lived and spent their income here in Manatee County. The county balked on property tax breaks for Wellcraft so, Wellcraft packed up and left for greener pastures with a more favorable tax climate. The result? Hundreds of lost jobs, a vacant property and less money on the tax rolls for the local economy.

Now, lets get a little bigger for the uneducated masses.... When you talk about huge companies, the amount of tax they pay (even at 15%) is staggering. In turn, they employ thousands of people directly and even more, indirectly. On top of that many of us have retirement accounts that are, in one way or another, impacted by these large companies and their profits/losses. When you give those companies a hard time on the tax end, they will do one of two things. Pass on the cost to the consumer (negatively impacting that middle class the sheep keep talking about) or, seek greener pastures for their business. More often than not, it's a combination of both.

Don't forget, companies are shareholder driven, as they should be. Nobody forms a "for profit" company to win awards for giving money away to the poor. The do it to make a profit and pay higher dividends to their shareholders. And, don't be hypocritical of their profits. If you have any 401k or retirement fund, you're benefitting from them doing well too.

There are a plethora of HUGE businesses lost overseas due to tax issues. Accenture, Tyco, Foster Wheeler, Ingersol Rand, etc. left this country for better tax climates. The impact on the working middle class was and is horrible. Lost jobs are only the start. the impact to communities are massive as well.

And, anyone who says Reaganomics didn't work is an idiot and they obviously know nothing about economics or American history. All Reagan did was cut taxes, reduce spending (by around 5% of the total budget level), implement anti-inflationary money policies and deregulate key business sectors such as oil and gas. His plans worked great.

People like to blab about Obama coming in on hard times. Well,Reagan came in on a series of three recessions that started in the late 1960"s. it was a horrible economic climate. Inflation was out of control (as in, a 13.5%+ CPI!!!) and unemployment was well over 10%. Oh, and let's not forget the prime rate in the late 1970"s was over 20%. Yeah...it was bad.

Reagan's policies created the largest and most successful economic recovery ever experienced...in the world. Not just the US. His policies continued to result in recovery until the start of the 90's when the tax increases in the budget (90 or 91 I am pretty sure) killed it. It was the longest peacetime economic expansion ever recorded. The recovery resulted in over 20 million new jobs and an unemployment rate that dropped to around 5%. In total, our economy grew by over 33% and employment (in the civilian sector alone) by over 20%. Under his polices, inflation dropped to almost 3%, poverty levels decreased at a higher rate than ever recorded before or since, spending power increased and the stock market went through the roof. It's referred to as "the greatest period of wealth creation in the history of the planet".

So anyone who says "Reaganomics" didn't work is just plain, old fashioned ignorant to the facts. Do a little research and let the numbers speak for themselves.

Obama, on the other hand, is poised to raise the capital gains tax up to 60%, increase medicare payroll tax rates by about 60%, raise the death tax rate back up to around 55% and increase federal spending by almost 57%. His average thus far is an abysmal growth rate of less than 3%. His last quarter growth rate was under 2%. Reagan (facing a much worse set of economic factors) averaged over 7% for the same period of time. In addition, Reagan blows Obama away on job creation, poverty decrease verses increase, and inflation control.

It's not fiction...it's fact and the numbers are all out there for everyone to read and digest. Say what you want about Reagan but, his economic policies were sound and strengthened all of us. Obama's.....not so much.
