Looking to put an inexpensive stereo system on my Can-Am Commander. Any ideas or comments on what you have on your ATV.

Is there any way to view this page without joining Facebook?

Where are you going to stay and ride at in the ONF? I might be able to make it that weekend.

Weather is going to change my plans a little bit. I am going to ride the Centennial Trail both Saturday & Sunday mornings. Will get there around 8:00 am for a quick ride before the lunch time rain starts.

I was thinking on going to the all you can eat breakfast buffet ($6.00) at Bass Champions in Salt Springs at 8:00 am on Saturday, then going up to the North OHV Trails (trailhead 316) for a couple of hours after breakfast.

On Sunday morning, I am going to ride the Centennial Trail.

Kris,

Will you let us know when we will be able to download the new trail maps from the Ocala National Forest website?

My wife and I got a pair of year long passes yesterday at the Ranger Station near Forest Corners on Highway 40. Bring cash because the machine isn't taking credit cards at this time.

66  General / Open Discussion / Securing Side X Side on trailer on: November 19, 2014, 01:26:04 PM
Just wondering what others use to secure their Side X Sides on trailers. I bought some green ratcheting straps and while they would work fine with an ATV I wonder how well they would hold my Can-Am Commander which is about twice as heavy. I am giving some thought to using braided Nylon rope (1/2" maybe) and tying it down using bowline's and trucker's hitches.

I'm going to meet whired there this weekend. Going to be a huge event. Wouldn't mind riding with someone who knows there way around. I never been there before, where would be a good place/time to meet?

I ride my Can-Am Commander out there pretty often and don't have any problems with the trees but there are several areas where the brush is rubbing both sides of my Toy at the same time. The mesh door nets work real well keeping the brush out of the cab.

It has less than 20 miles of trails to ride on and doesn't offer much for excitement such as hills, banked curves, water or muddy trails.
On the other hand it is a great place to take young kids to ride on smooth flat trails with a 25 MPH speed limit. It is only open on Saturdays and Sundays 8 to 5. The trail head has a large parking lot and nice restrooms.

If you live more than a hour away you might spend as much time driving back an forth as riding trails. If you go there I would recommend spending the weekend at http://www.soggybottommp.com/index.php and ride both areas as they are pretty close together.
71  General / Open Discussion / Re: What's in your breakdown bag? on: August 18, 2014, 09:48:16 AM
That the type of information I am looking for. I don't mind carrying a bunch of stuff in the lower storage compartment area of my Can-Am Commander. It is out of the way and easy to get when needed.

I put a roll of TP and a small package of wet wipes in plastic coffee can, carry two of these dry boxes in the glove compartment for stuff I don't want to get wet (wallets, phones, keys, etc.).

I also plan on carrying an axe and saw to cut up fallen trees on the Centennial Trail enough to winch them out of the way.

What kind of items do you carry for when your ATV/Side X side breaks down or gets stuck out in the middle of nowhere? Tire repair, out of gas, first aid, tow strap, winch, etc?

73  General / Open Discussion / Do you use a CB or 2 way radio? on: May 15, 2014, 04:28:33 PM
Just wondering if anyone uses a CB or other kind of 2 way radio to talk to other riders. If so, what do you use?
74  General / Open Discussion / Re: New from Ocala on: May 09, 2014, 03:39:42 PM
I believe they only do breakfast on Saturdays. I will be at the Centennial Trail 8:00 am Sunday. Look for a Cammo Can-Am Commander.
