Hey hillbrass,

I think that was your kids giving my boy a little extra room.
Let them know i said "thank you"
Justin doesnt get to ride that much so im a little worred when hes out there. Everyone gave him room and was appreciated.
Last saturday was the fastest he has ever riden out there... hes getting better though.

Wareracing07,

My boy was just watching...  :-)  He spoke to yours prior to the first heat.  He really wants to try it himself so it looks like Dad will be changing out his Z50 for an Eton.  I was going to talk to you about your experiance with the Etons but you were pretty busy getting everyone ready so I decided to spare you the newbie questions...  LOL

Does anyone know how to bypass the Rev Limiter on the new 4 stroke 2006 Z50???

It seems like a great bike but the limiter in the CDI is really taking the fun out of it...

Thanks,

Well we got a chance to test the Mini Z50 in the field this weekend!  Boy does it run!

It is not as fast as I thought..  Right now with the Thumb throttle restricted to 3/4 of it's movement he is going about 15 to 16 MPH.  Which right now is plenty for him.  Runs really well it will even spins the tires in the sand!!!  I think with full throttle it would be capable of about 20 MPH but I will have to see about that later right now we are still trying to get his technique down heheheheh

YFZ450,

I don't think so...   :-)  Two completely different bikes...  And remember I still need to confirm the true speed increase this weekend...

Good Luck on the Raptor 50!

Hello all!!!

I removed the governor spacer from the front engine pulley this Saturday!  What an improvement!  I wasn't able to get any pics due to the fact that my wife was in NC with the camera...  But the process isn't that bad...

Suzuki did a nice job setting up the new Z50 to work on...  All you have to do is the following...

1) Remove the left foot floor pan.  There are about 7 plastic rivets, 2 Phillips head screws and to 10mm bolts.
2) Remove left foot floor pan support mount.  This is just 2 12mm bolts...
3) Remove the 7 8mm?? Belt drive case cover bolts and breather tube.
4) Carefully remove belt case cover so as not to damage the casket.
5) I didn't have the "Special Tool".  But at this point I did get my impact wrench out and a 16mm socket to remove the primary "Front pulley" nut...
Once this is removed the pull start sprocket will come off. With no need to remove the 3 hex head bolts.  At this point carefully remove the outer pulley plate and move the belt out of the way...  No need to remove the belt completely.  Once the belt is out of the way you can slide out the remaining centrif pulley assembly.  Note be careful the starter spur may fall out on you not a problem just beware of it...
6) Once you have the centrif pulley assembly out you will see the spacer sleeve as describe in the Owners Manual.  Remove it...  (Duh.) ;-) and reassembly the centrif pulley.  Note again that the carrier sleeve has a flange on the end of it and that must be pointing back at the motor.  I don't know how I did it but I put it in backwards the first time...
7) Once you have the main half of centrif pulley back on the Motor output shaft put the belt back in place and carefully center the outer pulley plate and pull start sprocket.  I snugged this down slowly until everything was square before torqueing the main nut...
Cool After that reverse steps 1 thru 4 and you are golden!!

My Son was really excited after we got everything check out...  I even had to take some throttle out of it, as it was really moving.  I haven't had a chance to speed check it but I think it is going about 20MPH max right now...  With full throttle it may go to near 30MPH!  I will update the speed later once we have a chance to test it in Bull Creek this weekend!

Hello Everyone!

Thanks for the feedback...!

I have learned a few things about the new 4stroke gas Z50...  First off there is no restrictor like in the old A50 2stroke...

Suzuki has put a spacer in the CVT clutch to limit the speed to 8 or 8.5 MPH...  So this weekend I will be taking this out and testing the machine again and see how it performs...

I will update this thread after the test!!

More later,

Hiya All....!

My son recently got a Suzuki 2006 Z50..  Great bike so far....  Except for one thing....  it is limited to about 8MPH...  The motor pulls great up to a certain point and then it appears an electronic governor kicks in...

Does anyone know how to bypass this???

Thanks,

Hibrass

I was there Friday night...  What a storm...  I have some pics of the poor souls across the drive from us that had the misfortune of pitching camp in a soon to be lake....  But it cleared up very nicely by 9AM or so...

Man...

Just got back from Scrub...  Lord there was a lot of woops...  The Sink Hole was fun!  I got to rescue a 450R and a Banshee that either stop running or got stuck down in the bottom of the hole.  I had to use the winch to get the 450 out...  We found only a couple of good holes but I have never been before so I didn't have a clue where I was at LOL....!  I think we will be back.!!!!!

If we can find it we'll be there tonight....  Just look for the Gaint 4X4 Van....  LOL

Kawgirl,

When you had your ECM done did they give you something in writing about the Tranny???  The reason I ask is I haven't had either of mine updated yet...

Come to think of it I have only received one letter for the ECM update for my bike.  The wife hasn't received one...

Thanks,

Hibrass

NPRvinson,

I have two KQ's.  One with 350 miles another with 225.  Both have performed well with no problems or issues.  I have read many stories in the last 3 months in regards to the reverse problem and I think it is something a prospective buyer should consider before dropping 7K+ on a quad...

If you have any questions about the KQ let me know, I will be glad to pass on what little I know about them...

Good Luck,

Hibrass

321 and 500,

Right now Pig hunting is still going on at Bull Creek but you are still allowed to ride.  Any time we run into a hunting party my group just turns around and leaves them alone.  There is plenty of space for both without interference...

So far we are still exploring the Cememtary Rd area of Bull Creek, just that small portion has a lot of interesting places to ride.  I have seen a lot of Quads heading into the Suburban estates / Holopaw area but I personnally haven't ridden there yet.

I know that my small group will be riding Bull Creek again on the weekend of March 8th., we may do a day ride before that it depends on how well my boys behave in the meantime...  :-)

Enjoy,

321,

Sounds like you saw part of my group.  We share a camp off Owens st. and Ride in Bull Creek all the time.  And yes we did have one guy with us that would not wear a helmet....  But the rest of us do.  Do you remember a seeing a pair of Suzuki KQ Yellow and Green riding twoup???

Most of the riders are very respectable out there.  But my Buddy, riding a 450R, got chewout royally for going to fast by the guys at the checkout booth...

Hope to run into you some of you next time!
